The two winners of the Symphony's annual Competition for Young Musicians will be featured soloists on a program of stories and dances from across Europe.—Rossini celebrates Swiss patriot William Tell. Sibelius, in his Karelia suite, depicts Finnish culture and nationalism. Chabrier features the dances of Spain in his España Rhapsody. Khachaturian, strongly influenced by the folk music of Armenia, ends his Masquerade Suite with an exhilarating gallop.© Livermore-Amador Symphony Association
