There are abundant role models among the Symphony musicians—lots of people who live rich, productive lives. They range in age from teenagers to oldsters. Many are music teachers and/or are affiliated with other music groups. For example, clarinet player Kathy Boster teaches music for the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District, and LAS rehearsals are usually in her classroom; horn player Bob Williams conducts the Pleasanton Community Concert Band.

Get better acquainted with a few of your community orchestra players by watching the short videos on our Meet the Musicians page.

Most of the Symphony musicians reside in Livermore, California, or in the adjacent city of Pleasanton. Almost all of the others come from various San Francisco Bay Area cities and towns in the East or South Bay, but several are from outside the Bay Area, in the Central Valley over the hills just east of Livermore.

Learn about our conductor and music director, Lara Webber, our music director emeritus, Arthur Barnes (who commuted to Livermore from Stanford, by the way), our concertmaster, orchestra members, and rehearsals.
